[the night is young, the city is full of oddities, and there is a Monster sitting on Tabby's shoulders, clinging to her head like he's afraid he'll fall off. he also does his best to hide behind her hair when someone passes by, looking at everyone like they've got lobsters crawling out of their ears.

[she retrieves her hand so she can drop a larger rock in-- really listening for it to hit the bottom, this time]

[he flattens out into a rolled-up rug... and when he un-rolls himself, several rocks and her keys are laying there in sort of a pile near the middle.]

[whoa. she wasn't really expecting that one. as if she half expects him to suddenly change into something more menacing, like a bear-trap or something, she plucks her keys gingerly out of the rock pile. jingling them in her hand to make sure they seem pretty normal]
