He has had... a fantastic break. Finding Michael again, making a new "friend", even Euri showing up has put him in a better place than he was before. He hadn't realized it, but Tek is a lot of work. It was nice to not have to battle off mind games and manipulation and his many petty fits over nothing.
But just like he said Tek was a real snake, he also said he liked him. And it's true, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered showing up again so soon. Tracking down the distinct feeling of him through the tower, he's eventually knocking on his door.
"Hey," called through the door. "You busy?"

"Hey," called through the door. "You busy?"

"Good on you, making friends," spoken with his own satirical smirk.

"She even gave me a present. I think she likes me."
Yep, really can't keep a straight face through that one.
no subject
He resumes running his fingers through his bedmate's hair, tucking little strands out of the way--not that there's much of that to do, given that Tek's hair is usually perfect anyway. "What kind of a present?"
no subject
He still can't wait to show what became of the necklace that Robin had helped him buy. He'd been so busy, arranging deals, acquiring unique little treasures for himself, gathering stories, collecting acquaintances. He hadn't realized how much he'd been looking forward to playing show-and-tell with it all until now.
"I also had a pet for a very short while."
no subject
Pets, though-- "Now you're just showing off." He laughs at the ridiculous idea. "What do you mean?"
no subject
"It came scratching at my door of all places."
no subject
"What did it look like?"
no subject
He's entirely too amused at his own story, with that inside-joke smirk on his face.
no subject
His cat's a tabby. Nothing to worry about, then. And with the way Tek is smirking about it, he's starting to wonder if it was really a cat at all. He resumes his fidgeting, slowly starting up little braids out of want for direction.
"And it went and picked you, huh?"
no subject
And when he notices that Robin isn't just running his fingers along as he had before, he opens his eyes, looking up like he'd be able to see what is being done to his hair.
"...It was a short-lived affair, however. After it got what it wanted, and I refused to feed it, it left."
no subject
"Perhaps for the better. You're enough of a cat to make up for not having one."
no subject
Rolling from one thing to the other without pause, shaking his head a little.
no subject
But he doesn't keep off for long, too happy to sit still; he goes back and starts undoing what he's done, at which point Tek might be able to feel what's been done to his hair.
no subject
"So, what have you been up to?"
no subject
He takes to running his fingers through the strands of hair he's been messing with, sinking easily back into how they were earlier. His expression drifts from mischief to a simple, satisfied kind of smirk.
"Someone I'm very fond of showed up again. So he was a nice surprise... But then Euri showed up too, which has been less than enjoyable. Busy, Busy."
no subject
But, he must be too satisfied right where he's at to risk upsetting it. For once, he opts to leave it and stay comfortable. He's too content to bother.
...So, he'll poke around at the second half instead.
"Ah, I'd wondered if you'd noticed."
no subject
"Of course." He seems a little dismissive of the whole thing. "She's even more of a brat than she was the last time I saw her."
no subject
"Did she say why she's come back?"
no subject
He wasn't going to bitch about it. He really wasn't. But after a long period of scraping her out of his heart, he's just left with a sort of bitter resentment and a complete disdain for what he considers childish behavior (coming from the man who acts like he's twelve half the time). And damn it, he wants someone to witness his suffering. Gossip, gossip, gossip.
"She came back for that kid, Adel, because he's somewhere between sick and an amnesiac right now. But she finds out that whatshisname is already watching him, so now she won't even go near the guy because--Gods forbid--she'd have to get over herself and her stupid little romantic grudge-match to help a friend. It pisses me off."
no subject
Please, do tell him more.
"She's already hung up on something new, hmm? She's come all the way back for nothing?"
no subject
He disappears back into his own mind for a moment, tapping his propped-up foot against nothing while he thinks.
"Why not go in, guns blazing, or just fucking... talk to him, or something? She's not twelve, that shouldn't be hard."
no subject
Until he decides that it's time to go in there and get him.
When there's that lull, Tek leans forward, sneaking in to press a small but decisive kiss against his mouth.
no subject
"Oh." He looks surprised to suddenly be there again. Surprised by the kiss. Surprised by how bizarrely cute that was. "...Hi."
no subject
"You're cute when you're ranting."
no subject
But he settles again too, brushes all of it out of his mind as he brushes Tek's bangs away from his face.
"Unrelated, though, I was thinking I might drag you to go eat somewhere..." Oh, woe. "But that was before I got all comfortable."
