HIGHSCHOOL // AU

This shit has practically become its own canon so here's a post pulling it all together.

1) Robin and Tek meet at a party, get drunk, play gay-chicken in a closet, get kicked out of said party, and then have a weird sleepover at Robin's house.
2) They wake up in the middle of the night because Tek has to puke, but Robin is nice about it and the two of them fall back asleep.
3) They meet up again after school, and Robin "invites" Tek out to go eat at Danny's and see a movie.
3) At the movies, hilarity ensues.

Also notes for the canon:

Robin's parents are divorced; his biological dad is not brought up much. His step-father is doing work abroad and has brought many of Robin's step-siblings with him. Robin was left behind to finish his education and he's been bitter about it ever since. His aunt swings by to take care of him, feed him, make sure he's doing okay, etc., and his mom Skypes with him at least a couple of times a week.

Also his teenage name is "Robin Redmond", lol.

Oh, no...

[he says this with an ounce of dread, even though he has to try very hard not to outright grin as he sidles his way closer again. they may be talking now, but it feels good to be close to him, and that isn't going to go away unless he has a very cold shower.]

Okay, try me. What is it.

[yeah, Robin still definitely has a drunk boy squirming around in his lap. that fact has not changed. and the drunk boy in question has to get nice and close again, because important, shocking information is being shared.]

It's crazy, but I... [he grins, and that dumb giggle from before threatens to break out again, but he manages to hold onto it long enough to tell him] --have a boyfriend.

[finally, something gets to him. he looks surprised, eyes widening to stare at the boy in his lap like he can't believe what he just heard.]

That's why you were laughing? In the middle of everything?

[he's grinning like he can't stop, and he nods!]

I... have a boyfriend.

[because both points of emphasis are important here, to encompass all that he's caught up on.]

Oh... My god...

[he's not sure what to think of Tek's epiphany--it's precious and confusing and something of a relief all at the same time, so a smile comes creeping onto his face again, followed slowly by a sly grin as he rests a hand on the other's thigh.]

Are you telling me... [let him just put two and two together, here.] That I'm your first boyfriend?

[even grinning and giddy, he still manages to huff and roll his eyes. literally nothing can get in the way of that.]

Ugh... no. [but that answer sure sounds like it's said with some amount of uncertainty.]

I just didn't have one this morning, you know? And...

[he shrugs, looking tipsy and young for a minute.] Just... all of the sudden I do.

[Robin doesn't completely believe him... but it doesn't take him long to decide that he doesn't want to chase after it.]

Okay, okay...

[besides, if Tek isn't going to admit that he's sort of new to this "boyfriend" thing, Robin doesn't have to admit to it either.]

I guess it is all of a sudden, huh. [he runs his other hand through Tek's hair, almost petting him--which could accidentally be read as a condescending gesture, but he honestly started doing it without thinking about it.] But you don't mind, right?

[he blinks, surprised, when Robin touches his hair. if it had been another day, he might have pulled away or swatted at him, but he's a little too caught off guard to protest. as it is, his blinking is rather slowed, as if he's sleepy--but considering the general state of things, it's probably much more likely due to the alcohol. sleep is not exactly at the top of his list of priorities right now.]

Mind? [the smile comes back, looking pretty smarmy this time.] ...Not yet, anyway.

[well, if anyone can match a smarmy smile, it's Robin.]

Guess you'd better enjoy it while it lasts, huh?

[but he's still in a very good mood, still tipsy on his bizarre new reality--so he doesn't mean to imply that their relationship will eventually go up in flames. sure, it probably will, but you're not supposed to say that kind of thing out-loud!

he cants his head to the side, leaning back just a little... and he stops fidgeting with Tek's hair so that he can brush his fingers along his neck instead, smiling a little easier.]

"Robin has a boyfriend..." [he imagines other people saying it to him, mostly with spite and disgust, and smiles more.] I kind of like it, though. S'got a nice ring to it.

[ah yes, the neck is nice, even if it is just fingers against his skin. he tilts his head to the side to be encouraging about it, and gazes back at his new friend while he's at it.

Robin is just nice to look at, and he has all the right in the world to stare at him, now. they belong to each other in a way, right? at least a little bit? because he thinks that thought has a nice ring to it. he likes the looks that they're reflecting back at each other. he likes that they can stand each other, despite the strange day and a half they've had, and it's a surprise. they match.

and maybe that's what he'd meant with his earlier revelation. it sounds about right, and the thought still makes him want to laugh. so, maybe that's it.

after those moments of sly, happy staring, he looks like he's going to answer Robin. but he changes his mind on the banter last minute, and leans forward to decisively kiss him instead.]

[ah, always a welcome alternative. he sounds happy to have Tek leaning back in to give him a little attention. he kisses back, of course, no question about whether or not this is how he'd like to be spending his time.

though, speaking of time... it slowly occurs to him how late it is, and how school tomorrow is going to be a mess, if not impossible altogether. he'd been toying the the idea of asking for a little while, but with how well things have gone, he finally finds a chance to break away from the kiss for a moment and ask--]

Hey, you wanna go up to my room?

[Robin manages to find such a good moment for it, asking it like it's nothing. and it makes Tek grin in that way that makes it seem like he might laugh again, but he doesn't. he looks like he wants to start teasing or causing trouble, but he ends up just answering--] Sure. [and he wiggles off of Robin's lap as deftly as he can.]

[he still needs a minute, though. this alcohol thing is still new to him, and he suddenly finds out the fact that you never quite realize how drunk you are until you stand up.]

[it's good that Tek answers nicely. Robin may have been quietly holding his breath.

he laughs (maybe out of relief) as Tek wobbles to his feet. he's quick to join him, instinctively reaching out to take an arm and steady him as much as he can. he feels fine, if not a little jittery, and doesn't waste time starting to lead him back around the couch.]

You gonna fall? I could try to carry you, but I can't promise it's a good idea...

I'm not a goddamn princess-- [says the pretty boy in a skirt.] I got it... I got it.

[he's fussy about having his arm taken, too. he's a grown-ass teenager who can handle his liquor and doesn't need to be steadied.

...though, he does kind of snag Robin's hand and refuses to let go as the other boy leads the way.]

Okay, okay...

[fine, he gets the picture--even as his heart flutters, a little, at getting to wrap his fingers around Tek's lovely hand and lead him around.]

You really don't like that "princess" thing, huh...

[a little weird for a dude in a skirt, but Robin is hardly going to push it. he's busy leading them through the house, down the hallway, and up to his room. they had just been up here the night before. it's strange--no one is ever in his house, and here comes Tek, getting to crash here for the second time in a row.]

Yeah, well guess what I get called before getting knocked into lockers.

[--which he probably would not have just snarked back with if he'd been sober. and (luckily for everyone) he's probably not going to remember it later, given how it leaves his mouth easily and doesn't seem to really make a dent in his mood as it goes. with how he tends to sink with a vengeance whenever something upsets his fun even a little bit, it's clear that liquor is evening things out.

he even gets happily distracted with sliding his stocking-feet along the slippery hardwood floors as he follows Robin. he's fine, and Robin gets an honest answer for free.]

Oof.

[it's the sound of regret for having brought it up. good to know. Tek's honesty, however intoxicated, rewards him with Robin noting not to ever call him a princes in the future.

they walk in on Robin's room, which is much the same as it was the night before. stacks of books, some piles of clothes, a large bed, black walls. on the way in, Robin turns on his heel and tugs Tek close enough for another kiss.]

[Tek sees the familiar room, immediately thinks of something likely smart-ass to say... and Robin immediately cuts him off before he can continue to get distracted and derail anything further.

it's a smart move. it suddenly brings him right back to the moment and he does that cute thing that girls do, out of habit--letting his shoulders fall and his whole body kind of slinking demurely up against Robin. this one is definitely an automatic reaction to being caught and kissed. this one has happened plenty of times.

it's a reaction that takes zero thought, and he doesn't have to spend time thinking about the fact that they're in a bedroom. it's perfect. he lets himself dive into the kiss before he can overthink a single thing.]

[he doesn't want to think either. his plan involved getting Tek to his bedroom and went no further than that--and while he can think of at least a dozen things he'd like to do, the one highest on his list is "make sure you don't ruin it".

so he keeps them by the door, wrapping an arm around his waist, taking a minute to just enjoy feeling the slender form against him and be tickled by how short he is without heels on. he smiles into the kiss as he thinks about it. they don't have to go anywhere--maybe the two of them can just make out in the doorway the whole night.]

[this seems like a perfect plan--at first, anyway. Tek plays along in the nice, easy ways. Robin doesn't have to think ahead or compare anything to what he knows, because the person he's making out with could be anyone, and there's nothing to say that they couldn't just stay right here where that won't be challenged.

Tek leans into him like a girl, with his weight perched to the side, all in the hips. An arm sneaks up onto shoulders, fingers with nice nails go into Robin's hair.

he won't have to think about whatever is going to come next and who exactly he's with until playing nice isn't enough anymore. Tek only has so much patience for that... and when it runs out, he's compelled to start restlessly picking at the hem of Robin's shirt to get a hand underneath.]

[somehow, he had not expected this. he'd felt pretty good, making the first move to kiss him when they'd gotten here, but he'd been so preoccupied with trying to forget about potentially putting the moves on Tek that he forgot Tek was perfectly capable and willing to put the moves on him first.

he pulls back in surprise--a moment of weakness--quickly trying to calculate the risks in standing there and letting this happen, verses making a move in return. he risks looking too eager if he does, but risks looking like a punk-bitch if he doesn't.

caught between a rock and a... hard place, one could say. and it's making it very hard to do math.]

[rule number one: don't show weakness around Tek. rule number two: really don't show weakness around Tek when he's potentially feeling insecure himself.

the best defense is a good offense. or something.

Robin flinches and Tek grins. he pauses long enough for that look to sink in, before he slinks up against Robin again (much more intentionally this time), looking up through pretty, lowered lashes as he makes another move for Robin's shirt.

originally, he'd been planning on mindlessly going for Robin's chest, but his plans have been changed for him. it's out of his hands, really. after a balk like that, he just has to play with Robin's waistband instead. he doesn't have a choice.]

[oh. well. this is definitely a mistake he won't make again.

he is certainly not against the attention, sidling back against his new friend and leaning pretty pointedly into the fingers playing at his waist. and maybe because of how sudden it is, he laughs--a little startled, but not at all ready to stop.

fine, if Tek wants to play, he'll play. smirking back now that the game is on, he slides ons of his own hands under the hem of Tek's shirt to brush over his side... while the other hand goes wandering downward, running back and forth over Tek's hip before landing lower.

he's been admiring Tek's ass since yesterday, after all. might as well get a grab in, if they/re being so friendly.]

[as bony teenage boys go, this one does have a nice ass. fact confirmed.

and at just about this same time, as everyone is all smiles and daring and putting forth the best looks of confidence that they have... Tek's facade slips as he gives out an undignified little yelp.

it's not about the ass-grab, however. he pretty much lives for those and had been looking forward to finally provoking Robin into something like that. judging by the direction that he flinches away from... it's about his side.

Tek might be a little bit ticklish.]

Ah--? [he makes little sound of surprise himself, almost apologizing out of instinct until he realizes what that felt and sound like.] Did I just...?

[tickle you? did he just tickle Tek?

(nevermind that Robin's hand is still on his ass. it's very comfortable. he has no plans to move it.)]
