The ironic part about all of this is that Robin actually thought he was doing pretty well. Nel was already making leaps and bounds. Rin was going to be his friend, even if she was shaky on the whole servant thing. That's why he was holed up in their room, reading, instead of running damage control outside.

He is... unsuspecting.

"Okay."

He leans back a little, ruffles his hair. He's still restless from before, and knowing that someone's used his thing as a chew-toy hasn't really done anything to make that better.

"How are you feeling, chickadee?"

[catamite]

"I'm okay."

Of course. But he doesn't do a great job at the putting on a pretend smile step.

"You don't seem okay..."

On a whim (because he can do that now) he reaches down to give Nel a little kiss. It'll make him feel better. Just a peck on the lips, something cute.

Whatever protest he'd had gets turned into a dumb, tiny giggle when Robin surprises him. The smooch catches him off guard, and the little objective ping just tickles him. Pretty much literally.

Robin giggles too--he can't help it, he hasn't expected something so sudden and cute.

"What's that for? You like that?" Meant teasingly, he smooches him on the lips again.

[catamite]

He giggles an 'mhmm!' against Robin's mouth, squirming a little!

How silly. He pulls away with a big smile spread over his face.

"You weren't always that giggly, were you?," he repeats himself, "What's that for?"

[catamite]

It's such a welcome distraction. He's still smiling too, wiggling his feet a little as he shrugs.

"It was nice."

[birdsbirdsbirds]

"...Oh! I wonder, does it feel different than usual?"

And, to test, just in case... he'll lean down and give him another kiss, just to make sure.

By the happy sound that results from it, all signs point to yes... this is probably even more awesome than usual.

"Ah..." He draws back with another wide smile, brushing his fingers fondly through his hair. "And it's not quite the same when I go like this?"

He dives back in to kiss his cheek, this time! For science.

[catamite]

Another little giggle, but much more from simply being smitten with the affection than some more abstract thrill.

"I like them both!" Because of course he does.

Of course he does. Well, Robin finally leans back, putting his hands on the bed behind him.

"I think we've found an objective. Got any money?"

[catamite]

"Whoa, really?"

Ah, and then he squirms around to fish his skinny little wallet out of his pocket.

"I don't know," and just hands it out to him without bothering to look in it.

Despite everything he knows about Nel, it still astounds him, a little, how much he doesn't understand about keeping his own money. The whole concept seems completely beyond his grasp.

So he just takes Nel's wallet, opens it, and then dumps those new silver coins out onto the bed next to him. He picks them up so he can show Nel exactly how many there are.

"Looks like it to me. I think you've earned yourself something nice."

[catamite]

"Really?"

Excited and impressed now. Had he been upset about several looming subjects before? This is way easier to think about.

He elbows himself more upright, eager for 'something nice,' and hoping that it means going somewhere else and forgetting everything that they talked about here.

"You bet. Let's go get a drink or something."

He stands, assuming Nel is going to follow him. This was going to be his solution to all of Nel's problems anyway, so the fact that he doesn't have to pay for it makes it the obvious choice.
