"Heeeeeeeey..."
Robin's leaning on Tek's door, knocking to a beat. Not an even beat, either. A messy thing, indicative of his current state of mind. He's preeeeetty fucking drunk.
"Hey! You in there?"
Robin's leaning on Tek's door, knocking to a beat. Not an even beat, either. A messy thing, indicative of his current state of mind. He's preeeeetty fucking drunk.
"Hey! You in there?"

no subject
"My, how very forward."
no subject
He takes Robin's hand from where it's hovering and makes sure to get a nice good grip, hooking a few of his companion's fingers between his own to hold them still. Don't want him pulling away now, especially since the bottle he's opening is now obviously nail lacquer. Red, to be exact.
"Now, hold still..."
no subject
And it takes him a while. It's not like he's never seen nail polish before. It's just that girls usually have that kind of stuff, and it's not usually something that anyone puts on his hands.
So he just kind of... watches. Surprised.
"...Are you... painting my nails?"
no subject
He's already absorbed in the task, working extra careful. It's always more difficult to paint someone else--drawing the brush at a different angle, working with nails of a different shape than your own. He can paint his own in a matter of a minute or two, knowing exactly how much lacquer to load up on the brush, able to cover each nail in two neat little strokes.
This adds several levels of difficulty however, so he doesn't move his eyes for a moment as he answers.
"I think red is a wonderful color on you."
no subject
He peers skeptically over at Tek's very careful work. He should probably be more bothered about getting his nails painted, but it's really the color that's throwing him off the most. So he squints, trying really, really hard to decide what he thinks.
"I aaaaam not sure how to feel about this?"
no subject
He really thinks he would look best in black, but he needs to take advantage of this drunken opportunity... so red it is. He can get him with black later, when it won't be quite so funny.
"What are you unsure about?" --while waving his hand to fan Robin's nails a little.
no subject
He suddenly leans back, bumping his head against the side of the bed (with next to no reaction on his part). "I don't know if red is my color. I don't really weeear any red..."
no subject
He caps the bottle briefly so he can shake the paint up again--it's only half full. He's apparently used this color a lot.
"It matches your eyes." That occasional red glint that he loves so much. And he still remembers when he'd first met Robin-- blood-colored eyes set in a child's face...
"...Switch hands."
no subject
He doesn't know the science. But he brings the newly painted hand up towards his face, distractedly giving Tek his other one.
He's trying to decide if he likes it. "Black would be better. I think..."
no subject
And he gives a sudden smirk as he takes Robin's other hand, as if he's just won an unspoken contest.
"We can do black later, sure."
Because, in his mind, Robin just agreed to doing this again.
no subject
Which is really the sound of Tek winning this round. It's definitely not a refusal. Robin continues to examine his nails--who even knows if he has enough of a brain to comprehend how nice a job he did.
"It looks like I have girl hands." He flops his head over onto his shoulder. "Aren't you supposed to like..."
...He squints again, trying really hard to remember what you're supposed to do.
no subject
But, it soon becomes clear that it's not going to happen. So, he answers the question anyway. "Nope."
And, with a few more strokes of his brush, the second hand is complete. Letting go of Robin's fingers, he caps up the bottle and leans back a little to look.
"Let me see." He holds up his own hands, to show Robin what motion to mimic. "...What do you think?"
no subject
"I think I have stuff all over my nails."
Goodness, he still has it in him to be a smartass, albeit a dumb, drunk one.
"But I guess they look pretty good..." The color red will do, he guesses. He starts to slide over onto the floor now that he's free, but keeps his hands floating somewhere in the air.
"No, hey, I was supposed to nooot touch anything!" He continues his earlier thought, slurring, "Isn'that what people always say? That's a thing, right?"
no subject
"Oh, yes." Good thing that he's reminded him. "If you touch anything and get paint on it, I'll break your hands."
Just adding that on as a casual footnote.
no subject
"Don't break my hands! I need those!"
no subject
It's a simple cause-and-effect equation. Hopefully Robin will be able to keep it in his head long enough to not screw it up.
And then he comes wandering right back to take a seat on the edge of the bed, looking down and admiring his work.
"...I think it looks nice." --And he says that with as much sincerity as he can muster. There are, of course, a tangle of sneaky reasons behind it, but it is genuine.
no subject
But at least he manages to settle his palms on his knees. That seems like a good place. They'll stay there for a while.
"How nice?"
At this point, it might get hard to tell if his reactions have any actual thought behind them, or if he's just saying this shit out of reflex.
no subject
To make it better, he props an elbow on his knee and rests his chin, smirking down.
"Very nice."
no subject
no subject
"Only the best-looking ones, actually."
Stupid, mindless flattery... which he's using like tools in a science experiment. Just saying things to see the reaction. ...It's far more entertaining than it probably has any right to be.
no subject
"No, no. You can't hit on me, though. My hands are wet."
no subject
There really is no logical reason why this should be so entertaining to him. But that might be part of the appeal. It's just stupid.
"I'll stop if you really want me to."
no subject
Because Tek clearly doesn't understand, so he has to explain, complete with more pointing (though he is a safe distance away and can't bend his shoulder backwards, so it is much less threatening than before).
"Because if you're flirting with me, I'm gonna have to go over there and kiss you! But if I do that, then I'm going to get naaaails all over your bed... things... and then you'll be upset and break my hands and need those, okay."
no subject
He listens patiently, makes sure to appear interested, gives Robin all of his attention while he runs through the whole thing. And tries really hard not to laugh to himself.
"So, I'm just going to have to be patient, hmm?"
no subject
And he seems to settle on that before he slumps over onto the floor completely. He talks against the carpet, which is somewhat hilarious all on its own.
"Seriously, what's is this rug made of?"
