I'm sure Tek is having a wonderful early morning, doing whatever it is that he does.
Robin was having a good morning too! He got pretty hilariously drunk out in town, managed to drag his ass back to the tram just in time to catch the last one, and was ready to hit up one of his bedmates in a relatively good mood.
That was, of course, he started feeling weird when he got in the tower. He kind of dismissed it as maybe having had too much to drink, but that doesn't hold up for long. Windows act a lot like mirrors when they're front-lit and it's dark outside. Around the time Robin notices herself in the mirror is about when Tek hears the sudden, girlish screaming.

Whatever it is, he figures it's something he shouldn't miss.
So, he waltzes out of the kitchen, and--
Wait.
...No, wait.
Weird. There's only one person in the lobby, and... wait.
no subject
"W-What's going on?"
She's so wrapped up in whatever she's freaking out about that she doesn't even notice that Tek's appeared! Hilarity continues as she realizes she now has cleavage and nothing between her legs and starts swearing loudly because of it.
no subject
And that she seems to be freaking out about her own body.
...Her own body that looks unsettlingly like Robin's.
He really doesn't mean to be creeping closer, but that's precisely what he's doing. Moving quietly out into the lobby, pacing a slow path around her.
...Yep. Those are white streaks in her hair.
"Uh..."
no subject
"...Uh..."
no subject
She knows who he is. Which means that, odds are, he does know who she is.
Which is also impossible.
But it strikes him as so suddenly true, that he can't help looking startled too.
"Are... are you..."
no subject
"Nnnnoooo..." She starts, then looks shiftily towards the door. "Mmmaaaybe. I need to go, bye."
And she makes a casual break for the stairs.
no subject
Reaching out to catch her arm before he can stop himself, and well before he's really come to terms with anything here.
Because it can't be. That would be crazy.
...Right?
"Wait, wait, wait."
Keeping her from running off, going for her other arm so he can turn her, making her face him. He needs a good look at her face.
Her eyes specifically.
no subject
So she just kind of freezes there and waits for her inevitable judgement. Please, please please please let there be a logical explanation for this.
Doesn't make much eye contact because of how embarrassing it is, but her eyes look exactly the same. Brown and uninteresting until you really look at them and see the red glinting just beneath the surface.
no subject
Her eyes, the hiss and tingle of energy in her skin, the tangled-up Fatestrings all over...
There is absolutely no doubt in his mind now that this really is Robin, there is nothing about this that even comes close to making sense, and he can't help but just suddenly laugh.
Maybe he's dreaming.
"Wait-- what happened to you?"
no subject
"I don't know, okay! I was just walking and then I was suddenly a--" She chokes a little, "A-- Well, you can fucking see it, right?"
And then she just sort of gives up and starts dragging down at the grip on her wrists. She looks at the floor because that's better than looking at his stupid smug face.
"Tega, this is soooo fucking messed up..."
no subject
And his grin is already far past smug. Hearing her answer, having the whole thing confirmed out loud, he can't handle the reality of it. He's just looking very suddenly gleeful.
He gives her wrists a little tug up, because he can't properly look her over when she's slumping like that.
"So, what... you just changed for no reason?" --Sounding positively delighted about it.
no subject
She tries to remember if anything happened to make her change, but she can't think of anything, so she just groans and shakes her head and realizes (while she's looking down and all that) that Tek isn't actually wearing shoes that would make him taller.
Which means that she is now shorter.
Motherfucker.
"What the fuck are you so smug about?"
no subject
If he gets any giddier, his head might explode.
"What do you mean? This is great!"
Oh, and just in case she might have wanted more scrutiny, he takes a step back so she's held more at arm's length, blatantly looking her up and down. Still not letting go of her wrists at all.
"I can't believe what I'm seeing."
no subject
There is where she starts to get fed up with being propped up and looked at and tries to wrench one of her wrists out of his grip.
no subject
The grin isn't going anywhere though, and neither is the staring.
"How is it horrible? You're overreacting."
no subject
It's a shriek that reaches a nearly painfully high pitch and she covers her mouth in shock when she realizes that, yeah, it's still her that's making those horrible noises. A second later, she's back to looking like she's ready to punch him in the face.
"You son of a bitch, this is ridiculous! Let me go!" She tugs at the other arm, now, but stops when her face flushes and she needs to wipe something frustratedly away from her eyes.
no subject
He eases up, finally lets her go, but doesn't look particularly sorry.
"Don't get mad at me. I didn't do this to you."
And, he has only let go of her wrist for a moment, before he's reaching again-- but nicer this time, and for her hand.
"It's okay. Calm down."
no subject
She sniffs a little, looks generally disgusted with herself, wipes at her eyes again and screams in the inside of her own head to get her shit together. Thinking past the drunken haze makes it kind of hard, but she manages to at least pull herself back to not looking like an immediate mess about to happen.
"I don't want to be a girl. This is so fucking weird..."
no subject
"Don't get all worked up. It's probably nothing to worry about."
Backing toward the stairs, where she'd been trying to bolt anyway. But he's got her hand and his leering is much more subtle now.
"Come on."
no subject
But despite her not believing him in the slightest, she smears the last of a momentary breakdown away from her eyes and lets herself get led up the stairs. She doesn't know where Tek's planning on taking her, but she figures she needs to get up there anyway. She can get to her room.
And she'd rather not be alone right now. Which might, you know, just be the alcohol talking. She is pretty drunk, given the way she wobbles a little here and there. Though that might be the change in height, shape, and center of gravity.
And, like a true drunk, she just feels compelled to explain. She wants Tek to get it!
"Look, it's not like-- It's not like I just change around like you do all the time, you know? I don't even... know..."
no subject
He's helping.
"First, you should stop worrying. It's not like strange things haven't happened here before, right? Maybe you were cursed. I'm sure you'll be fine."
Which, he really isn't sure of at all. In the least. But it at least sounds plausible.
no subject
Which doesn't strike her as the least bit suspicious right now, because she's busy trying to think of other weird things that have happened.
"Like when I was... When people were just kids, right? That went away..."
no subject
He's finally at the point where he can talk about that as if it was nothing. Though, having something infinitely more interesting going on right in front of him helps with that too.
"So, don't waste your time worrying." --And whoops, the expression that lights on his face is probably not a very trustworthy one. "...You should be taking advantage of it."
no subject
But then, stumbling up after Tek, she walks right into the rest of it.
"What do you mean, 'take advantage of it'...?"
no subject
But, he doesn't elaborate further. It's as if he doesn't want to chance anymore words until he has her safely tucked away in his room. Like she might disappear or run off or get distracted at any moment, he's coveting her away before anything else can happen.
Everything he doesn't say spills over into a wide smirk however, impatient and excited.
So, it's a quick and quiet walk the rest of the way up the stairs, still hanging onto her hand when he needs to turn his attention to opening the door.
