Coil is a little edgy, but it only partially has to do with the fact that he is surrounded on every side by monsters that would love to take a bite out of him if they had the chance; it's more the fact that he's surrounded by people. Crowds are not his favorite things in the world, especially when he's stuck moving through the middle of one instead of haunting the edges. Whether they're full of the living or the dead only shifts things one way or the other by a small margin.
If anything, the fact that he can tell which ones can see the glow of his eye makes it a little bit fun. He likes they way that they quietly spook and turn their attention elsewhere.
Otherwise, he's keeping Zhas close at his blind side as they wander, with his attention flicking between whichever monsters happen to be closest to him at the time, keeping an eye on their leader, and casually perusing the stalls for much-needed spell reagents.
