Drift Fleet // AU
[you'd think she'd have learned by now, but great power does not necessarily bring great wisdom along with it. she's a very talented spellcaster (at least when it comes to the Primal Arts), but she's only been aware of her fae nature for a year, maybe two. that's not nearly long enough to get over wanting to turn vampires into lawn chairs just because she can.
which is why, today, Krista is trying to catch frogs in the middle of the hallway. they didn't start out as frogs, but she doesn't want anyone else to know that--because bad things happen when humans catch you enchanting things, and she hasn't exactly polled the rest of her crew regarding their opinions of magic and magical creatures yet.
in fact, she hasn't really said much to her crew yet at all. she seems somewhat antisocial, and has this thing where her voice can't raise in volume much higher than a whisper. she dresses in long-sleeved shirts and skinny jeans and wears a lot of dark makeup around her eyes and seems to spend two-thirds of her time either reading or writing in a journal of her own.
today, that extra one-third leftover is being spent kneeling on the floor, trying to be faster than some dull-colored amphibians that keep jumping away from her right before she can snatch them in her bony little fingers. after one wriggles right out of her hands, she groans a loudly as physically possible (which still isn't very loud, for her) and says:] This is so stupid.
